What is Yoga Stretch Therapy?
Yoga Stretch Therapy is an interactive form of bodywork in which the practitioner works with the recipient; blending compassionate, therapeutic acupressure and deep yoga stretches, to create a state of true yogic bliss. As a recipient, you will enjoy all the healing benefits of a deep yoga practice without the effort of doing it. Like yoga postures, it works deeply on the skeletal, muscular, lymphatic, endocrine and nervous systems. Within the body, Yoga Stretch Therapy opens blocked areas, stimulates and balances the flow of healing energy, harmony, happiness, and overall well-being. Best of all; Yoga Stretch Therapy enhances the connection to a yoga practice through increased body awareness.
Benefits of a Yoga Stretch Therapy Session:
-
Release of muscular tension, increased flexibility and range of motion
-
Homeostasis: balances hormones and automatic nervous system
-
Removal of energy blocks, stored tension & emotions; promoting healthy energy flow
-
Relief from stress and anxiety-related conditions such as fatigue, headaches, and insomnia.
-
Improve heart rate variability
-
Increased energy and concentration
-
Improved blood and lymph circulation, oxygenates tissues
-
Stimulation of glands and internal organs; improved digestion

-

-
Deep relaxation and improved mental state
Preparation for a Yoga Stretch Therapy Session:
-
Wear comfortable clothes. Thai bodywork is done fully clothed in order to fully access critical acupressure points and facilitate deeper stretching. Yoga clothes or an oversized tee.
-
As you would for a yoga class, avoid eating at least two hours before a session if possible.
-
Prepare to release what doesn’t service, and let go. Often the hardest part of receiving bodywork is relaxing into someone else’s energy. The focus of the session is to become purposeful, intentional, meditative, and slow down.
